Information about the masks that we provide:
-
Our masks are composed of two layers:
-
An innermost layer of woven cotton
-
An outmost layer of waterproof polypropylene - limits external contamination from penetrating through the nose and mouth.
-
-
Our masks follow the World Health Organization's (WHO) recommendations for mask shape, meaning they are designed to fit closely over the nose, cheeks, and chin of the wearer.
-
According to the WHO's 'Advice on the use of masks in the context of COVID-19' released on June 5, 2020:
-
Polypropylene has a filter quality factor (Q) of 16.9 kPa-1, which is by far the best of any material listed.
-
Woven cotton has a filter quality factor (Q) of 5.4 kPa-1, which is 1.9x higher than that of woven silk and 11x higher than woven gauze.
